Carlo Tino Piranio (May 8, 1876 d. Feb. 20, 1930) was the first boss and patriarch of the Dallas crime family.
Carlo Piranio was born in Corleone on 1876. Piranio was born in the same Sicilian village as early New York Mafia boss Giuseppe Morello. Carlo and his younger brother Joseph Piranio immigrated to America in 1901. They briefly settled in Shreveport, Louisiana before moving to Dallas, Texas where Piranio founded what became known as the Dallas crime family. Joseph served as his Underboss. Piranio hired thugs to work for him and enforcer the family's operations. Piranio got involved in Counterfeiting and Bank robberies and soon became the ruler of Dallas.
Piranio married Clementia Piranio, an eighteen-year old Italian immigrant like himself in 1903. A year later they had a son named Angelo Piranio.
Carlo T. Piranio died of Natural causes in 1930.
